Connect a Zoom account and Fuzegenai can create Zoom meetings for you from the Inbox, so a reply thread turns into a call in one click. This page covers adding the Zoom app, using it, removing it, and exactly what Fuzegenai does with your Zoom data.
Before you start
- You need a Zoom account. A free Basic account works; meeting limits are Zoom's, not ours.
- In Fuzegenai you need the Integrations manage permission. Workspace owners and admins have it by default.
- Zoom connects per workspace. Each Fuzegenai workspace can hold one or more Zoom accounts, and any member of the workspace can create meetings with them.
Add the Zoom app
- In Fuzegenai, open Integrations from the left sidebar.
- Scroll to Video & meetings and click Connect on the Zoom card.
- Read the Link Zoom account dialog. It lists the two permissions Fuzegenai asks for: create meetings, and read your profile to label the account. Click Connect to Zoom.
- Zoom opens in a popup. Sign in to Zoom if you are not already, then click Allow.
- The popup closes and the Zoom card shows Connected. Click Manage on the card to see the account name, email, account type and the date it was connected.
If the popup is blocked, allow popups for fuzegenai.com and click Connect again. If Zoom shows an error about scopes, the Zoom account belongs to an organisation whose admin must approve apps first; ask them to approve Fuzegenai in the Zoom App Marketplace, then retry.
Use the Zoom app
Zoom meetings are created from the Inbox.
Insert a meeting into a reply
- Open a thread and click Reply.
- In the composer toolbar click Meeting, then choose Zoom and click Insert.
- Fuzegenai creates a Zoom meeting on the connected account and places the join link in your reply. Edit the text around it as you like, then send.
Start a meeting now
- In the Inbox sidebar click Start a meeting and choose Zoom.
- Fuzegenai creates the meeting and opens the Zoom start link in a new tab. Share the join link with whoever you are talking to.
From the API
Your own automations can create meetings against a connected account by calling the Fuzegenai REST API with an API key. See API keys and the REST API for authentication; the endpoint is POST /api/v1/integrations/zoom/meetings with the integration id, a topic, and an optional start time, duration, time zone and agenda.
Meetings are created with Zoom's defaults for your account. Fuzegenai does not change passcodes, waiting rooms or recording settings.
Remove the Zoom app
From Fuzegenai
- Open Integrations, find the Zoom card and click Manage.
- Click Disconnect next to the account, then confirm.
Disconnecting deletes the stored connection, including the encrypted Zoom tokens and the profile label, from Fuzegenai immediately. Meetings you already created stay in your Zoom account; Fuzegenai never deletes meetings.
From Zoom
You can also revoke access on Zoom's side. In the Zoom App Marketplace, open Manage, then Added Apps, find Fuzegenai and click Remove. Fuzegenai's stored tokens stop working at once; the next time you open Manage on the Zoom card, click Disconnect to clear the entry.
Deleting your Fuzegenai workspace or account also removes every Zoom connection in it.
What Fuzegenai does with Zoom data
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Permissions requested | meeting:write:meeting to create meetings; user:read:user to read your profile |
| What is read | Your Zoom user id, display name, email and account type, once, to label the connection |
| What is created | Meetings you ask for, on the connected account |
| What is never done | Listing or reading your existing meetings, recordings or chat; changing your profile or settings; receiving Zoom webhooks |
| Stored in Fuzegenai | The profile label above, plus OAuth access and refresh tokens encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they reach the database |
| Not stored | Meeting join and start links; they are returned to you and placed in your reply only |
| Deleted when | You disconnect the account, remove the app in Zoom, or delete your workspace or account |
Zoom data is not shared with any third-party, analytics or AI service. The full policy is in our privacy policy.
Troubleshooting
- "Zoom is not connected" when inserting a meeting. The connection was removed or its token could not be refreshed. Open Integrations, disconnect the Zoom entry, and connect again.
- The meeting was created but no link appeared. Zoom returned the meeting without a join URL, which happens on some restricted accounts. Open the meeting in Zoom to copy the link, and contact support at founder@fuzegenai.com so we can look at the account.
- Another member cannot see the Zoom account. They are in a different workspace, or lack the Integrations view permission. Zoom connections belong to the workspace they were added in.
