How A/B testing worksHow a marketing team runs outbound here.
Outbound is one-to-one email from a real mailbox, not a newsletter blast. The workflow is built around that difference.
Start from the audience you can reach
Describe the audience in SuperSearch, or bring your own list from CSV, Excel, Google Sheets or a paste. Leads are matched by email, so duplicates are skipped, and any extra column becomes a custom field you can merge into the copy. How imports map columns.
Write it once, test it properly
Test subject lines and bodies on any step. A variant is promoted only at 95% confidence, so one lucky morning does not pick your message. A/B testing starts on the Professional plan.
Let the checks catch what review misses
Each email is scored by rspamd before it leaves and held at 2.0 or above. Leads are verified at launch, and role addresses like info@ are skipped by default. Check a draft first with the free spam checker.
Keep it off the newsletter domain
Cold email collects more complaints and silence than mail people opted into. Send it from a second domain or subdomain so your newsletter keeps its reputation. Choosing the domain.
Which numbers to report upward.
Marketing teams get asked what worked. Some email metrics answer that better than others.
Replies are the firm number
A reply is a real message in your mailbox. It needs no pixel and no rewritten link, so it is counted whether tracking is on or off. Report reply rate by campaign and by step.
Opens are an estimate
Apple Mail loads images in advance and reports opens that did not happen. Other apps block images and report none. Compare opens between your own variants; do not read them as people. How tracking works.
Clicks are firmer, with a caveat
Security scanners at some companies follow every link in an email and register clicks no person made. Tracking also gives a spam filter more to look at, so turn it off when placement matters more than the metric.
Unsubscribes travel with the organisation
Campaigns can add a one-click unsubscribe header, and an address that unsubscribes is kept off every campaign in the organisation, not just the one it came from.
