Connect Microsoft 365, Outlook and SMTP mailboxes

Connect Microsoft mailboxes with Microsoft sign-in, and any other mailbox over SMTP and IMAP.

By Fuzegenai TeamLast updated

Besides Google Workspace, Fuzegenai connects Microsoft 365 and Outlook mailboxes with Microsoft sign-in, and any other mailbox over SMTP and IMAP. All three start from Email Accounts, then Add Account.

The Add Email Account dialog has three connection methods: Google & Microsoft, Add SMTP manually and Import from CSV. For Google, see connecting Gmail and Google Workspace.

Connect Microsoft 365 or Outlook

  1. Open Email Accounts and select Add Account.
  2. Keep Google & Microsoft selected.
  3. In the Microsoft Outlook row, select Connect.
  4. Sign in with Microsoft and approve the permissions. Microsoft may ask a tenant admin to give consent, because the app asks to list the users in your tenant.
  5. Back in Fuzegenai, Select accounts to add lists the users found on your domain. Tick the mailboxes you want and select the add button, which shows your count (for example Add 2 selected).

There is no Admin Console setup step for Microsoft. If only your own address is listed, sign in again with an admin account to see the rest of the tenant.

Add a mailbox over SMTP and IMAP

Use this for any provider that gives you SMTP and IMAP details, including a personal Gmail address with an app password.

  1. In Add Email Account, select Add SMTP manually.
  2. Fill in Email address and Password / app password.
  3. Enter SMTP Host and SMTP Port.
  4. Optionally enter IMAP Host and IMAP Port. If you leave the host empty, Fuzegenai swaps a leading "smtp." for "imap." in your SMTP host, and uses port 993. The IMAP login reuses your email address and password.
  5. Set a Daily send limit. The form starts at 50.
  6. Tick or untick Use TLS/SSL encryption to match your provider.
  7. Select Verify & Add Account.

Fuzegenai signs in to your SMTP server before saving anything. If the test fails, the mailbox is not added and the message says what went wrong: wrong host, wrong port, timeout, rejected password or a TLS mismatch.

Two common fixes:

  • Authentication failed on Gmail or another provider with two-step sign-in: create an app password with your provider and use that instead of your normal password.
  • TLS/SSL error: port 465 normally needs the box ticked, and port 587 normally needs it unticked.

Import many SMTP mailboxes from a file

  1. In Add Email Account, select Import from CSV.
  2. Select Download CSV template.
  3. Fill in one row per mailbox. The required columns are email, password, host, port, dailyLimit and secure.
  4. Drop the file in, or select Browse files. CSV and Excel files up to 5 MB are accepted, and the first five rows are previewed.
  5. Select Import accounts.

Limits and what happens next

Every connected address counts towards your plan's mailbox limit, and the app stops you from adding more once you reach it. See plans and the free trial.

After connecting, each mailbox appears in the Email Accounts table with its Status, Reputation, DNS and Warmup columns. Fuzegenai checks the domain's SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX records straight away. Next, read the SPF, DKIM and DMARC guide, domain warmup explained and mailbox health and sender reputation. Email accounts has an overview of the mailbox table.
